President Buhari Arrives New York For UN General Assembly
President
Muhammadu Buhari arrived New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly.
President Buhari left Nigeria with his wife, Aisha on Sunday
morning.
According to Mr Femi Adesina the President’s Special Adviser on
Media and Publicity, the high point of his involvement will be his address to
the General Assembly on Tuesday.
The President is expected to confirm Nigeria’s commitment to sustainable
socio-economic development; international peace and security; disarmament and
denuclearisation; climate change; rule of law and human rights; youth and women
empowerment among others.
The 73rd Session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA73) formally
opened on September 18, 2018, with the theme, ‘Making the United Nations relevant to all People: Global
Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Peaceful, Equitable and Sustainable
Societies.’
